This is one of my favorite pictures that I took when we went to Chile. That was an interesting experience. I had a chance to go horse back riding in Chile that was a memorable experience ever.
I can't wait till next year. Our next trip is to Peru. Who knows who we will meet there.

My Son

My son will be turning five soon and I am totally not looking foward to that. Sometimes I will ask him to stay small forever and he always replies, "ok just for a little bit, but then I have to get big". Funny! I think he knows that as he gets older things will change for him. He's my baby and I want him to stay that way.
Our favorite thing to do is to lay on the couch cover ourselves with a blanket and watch movies together and of course eat popcorn. I don't want that to end, ever. Or sometimes he tells me that I am his best friend (I hope he still feels the same when he is a teenager). I guess he has to grow up I just hope its a slow process.

Even though my whole Thanksgiving week was spent here in the KDUR radio station and not with my family (where I really wanted to be) was good. I learned a lot about myself. I learned to like Rock-n-Roll. Don't get me wrong I like rock, pop, and the nice rap (if there is such a thing). Except country, sorry I just can't do country, I just can't. I really got out of my comfort zone, which is spanish music. You know I really never thought about NOT hearing spanish music. Growing up in Houston it's everywhere! Last year when we went to go visit my family my son made the comment, "why is the radio on in the street," what he was referring to was that the Mexican bakery that we were about to go into had music playing on the sidewalk, and of course you dont see that in Durango, so I guess it was strange to him.I get tears in my eyes everytime I think about that, strange.

But you don't really know what you have until it's gone. My neighborhood back home is the great to me, but maybe people who visit may not feel the same, I gues the word to use is "barrio". But that is where I lived for 24 years of my life. My favorite corner taco stand is there, my hairdresser is there, my friends that I grew up with are there, everything that I have known to be good is there. My family is there. I miss it. I miss waking up on Sunday morning to go get hot barbacoa with fresh corn tortillas, and of course getting freshly made bread from the bakery. I miss MY MUSIC, the music that defines me, that tells me it is ok to be Mexican, that it is ok to be me. I miss it. Durango is a beautiful a great place, but if I could go back today to MY neighborhood I would in a heartbeat.

I don't know, I feel that music to a culture is very important and when you don't hear it feels a little lonely. It feels like you have lost a piece of you that you had no idea that it was part of you. Well that's how I feel at least.

Working on the Project

I guess everyone must feel the way I do, STRESSED!!!!!!!!!! It is getting towards the end of the semester and it is really crunch time.

Working on this project has been lots of fun. I now have a new found respect for people who create games:) Even though ours is on a small scale it is still requires a lot of detail and most importantly a great imagination. Our project is coming along great. We all have a lot of great ideas and are able to come together and make those ideas happen.

So, hopefully soon we will have our project up and going!

Worm Project:)

Ummmm....... I have to say that I have never done a project on STD's before, so I think it is very interesting on what I am learning. I mean this is stuff that you learn in middle school all the way through highschool, but still it's all interesting stuff. But this project is the intersting of all projects that I have ever been involved with. This project is not only educational but fun, so I am really excited for everyone in our class to see the final product. I feel like we have a great team and we are all working very hard on the project.
